Yahoo said it will host a private NewFront event for its advertising and agency partners on May 4 at its New York offices.
The scaled down event is a big reduction from last year’s NewFront event held at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center and included Simon Cowell unveiling a DJ-reality competition series which was eventually canceled according to Variety.
Lisa Utzschneider, Chief Revenue Officer of Yahoo, said that 2016 is a year of focus for the company with video advertising representing one of the fastest growing areas of its business, up 64% in 2015.
Over the past year, Yahoo has moved away from scripted long form series, and instead is focused on short form and live video programming. The company also cut 15% of its workforce and is focusing on its News, Sports, Finance and Lifestyle properties
Yahoo could also be acquired in the next several months.
