NEW YORK — Smarter Toddler Nursery & Preschool has signed a multi-year lease with Madison Marquette to secure its new Williamsburg location opening next month. The 14-year-old childcare and early childhood education provider occupies approximately 7,500 square feet of ground retail space at Madison Marquette’s Edge condominium at North 6th Street and the East River waterfront. The space represents Smarter Toddler’s fourth location and its first location outside of Manhattan as the school tries to expand its presence and enrollment capacity in the New York metropolitan area.
George Gordon Real Estate’s Bob Patel represented Smarter Toddler in the transaction and worked closely with the school to identify optimal locations for Smarter Toddler’s first Brooklyn location. Formerly the home of another preschool, the original 4,000 square foot space was extended by combining an adjacent retail storefront and transformed into state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms.

We were able to secure a great multi-year deal for Smarter Toddler who will help serve the community’s increasing demand for quality childcare services.”

Constructed in 2008, Madison Marquette’s Edge Condominium is a 64,000 square foot LEED Gold certified retail and residential condominium consisting of two separate towers that house 1,350 residential units. Residents enjoy water and skyline views as well as access to the East River Ferry, the L train, Brooklyn Queens Expressway and Williamsburg Bridge. Other retail tenants include Fabbrica Italian Trattoria, CVS Pharmacy and Brooklyn Harvest Market.
