Le CouCou is a new French restaurant now open at 138 Lafayette Street in Manhattan, inside the 11 Howard Hotel just north of Canal Street near Chinatown.
The restaurant is owned by Stephen Starr and his Philadelphia-company Starr Restaurants, which also operates Buddakan and Morimoto in NYC.
Daniel Rose, an American chef who ran the restaurants Spring and La Bourse et La Vie in Paris, is returning to the U.S. to be head chef at Le CouCou according to The NY Times.
Entree specials include: Veal tongue with caviar for $38; Whole rabbit for $33; Prime beef with bone marrow and oxtail potatoes for $45.
The restaurant is currently open for dinner daily from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m.
