NEW YORK — Ernst & Young LLP announced that Kate Barton, a partner and EY Americas Vice Chair of Tax Services, was named Female Executive of the Year by the Women World Awards for Women in Business in organizations with 2,500 or more employees. The Awards recognize the best in leadership, innovation, organizational performance, new products and services from every major industry in the world, including public, private, for-profit and non-profit organizations.
“At EY, our purpose is to build a better working world, and one of the most important ways we do that is to take every opportunity to support and recognize women and their contributions to business,” said Barton. “I’m proud to join this group of powerful women business leaders whose personal successes are creating positive change.”
Barton’s vision leads the current period of tax innovation at EY. Tax technology has helped to lead the way for clients, sponsoring the creation of tools and services that enable companies to efficiently and accurately address the latest changes to tax and regulatory systems.
Her leadership has led to double digit revenue growth this year. Her teams have been able to achieve this growth while closing acquisitions, hiring top talent and developing technology enabled services.
Winners will be honored in San Francisco on Monday, June 27, 2016, during the annual SVUS (Silicon Valley United States) Red Carpet Awards Ceremony Dinner.
