Away Luggage Flies Off With $8.5 Million

Away, a maker of high-quality luggage at affordable prices, has raised $8.5 million in Series A funding reports The Wall Street Journal.

Global Founders Capital led the round along with other participating investors Forerunner Ventures, Accel Partners, Comcast Ventures and Starwood Hotels founder Barry Sternlicht.

The company plans to use the money to expand overseas.

Founders Steph Korey and Jen Rubio are former executives at eyeglass maker Warby Parker.
