NEW YORK — Skift, a NY-based news site covering the travel industry, is expanding into food and beverage by adding the weekly newsletter Chefs and Tech to its umbrella.
Chefs and Tech is a three-year-old weekly newsletter written by veteran journalist Kristen Hawley about technology and restaurants. Skift will now host and distribute the newsletter. Hawley will begin to expand coverage in the next few months.
Skift plans to focus on the changing customer experience in dining out and the adoption of new technology.
Skift was founded in 2012 and has raised $2.5 million in seed investors and venture capital to date. The company says it is profitable.
