Private equity firm Quadrum Global has opened two new boutique hotels under the brand Arlo in New York City.

The first Arlo Hotel opened in September in Hudson Square with 325 rooms located at 231 Hudson Street.

The second Arlo Hotel opened this month in the NoMad area at 11 East 31st Street with 250 rooms.

Quadrum is self-managing the properties, which are known as micro hotels for the small rooms with just 165 square feet of space. Quadrum says Arlo is the first micro hotel in the U.S. with four-star design.

“Hospitality has been one of our core investment strategies since we entered the U.S. market in 2009,” said Oleg Pavlov, Quadrum’s founder and chief executive officer. “Given where the hotel investment market is today, we believe that self-managing our newest crop of hotel projects puts us in a better position to create value for investors and customers over the entire lifecycle of these projects.”

Room rates start at $199 per night.
