Billy Bush, a co-anchor of NBC’s morning Today Show, has been suspended by the network over lewd comments he made with Donald Trump in a video released last week from 2005.
Bush did not appear on this morning’s show in his regular slot. The hour was anchored by Tamron Hall and Al Roker.
The suspension was announced in a internal memo by senior vice president Noah Oppenheim. “I know we’ve all been deeply troubled by the revelations of the past 48 hours,” Oppenheim wrote in the memo. “Let me be clear — there is simply no excuse for Billy’s language and behavior on that tape. NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter.”
Bush is the nephew of former President George H.W. Bush.
The video was from an interview Bush did with Trump while at Access Hollywood in 2005, which is also owned by NBC.
