NEW YORK — GIPHY, which operates a search engine for animated GIF files, has raised an additional $72 million according to The Wall Street Journal.
The investment was led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Institutional Venture Partners and China Media Capital. Previous investors Betaworks, RRE Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and GV (formerly Google Ventures) also participated.
GIPHY raised $55 million in a Series C funding this past December.
The New York-based company was founded by Alex Chung and Jace Cooke in February 2013.
