The NY Times is opening up its digital doors to all from November 7-9 for coverage of the Presidential election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Readers will have unlimited access to NYTimes.com for 72 hours from 12:01 a.m. ET on Monday, November 7 until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 9.
“This is an important moment for our country,” said Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., publisher of The New York Times in an online statement. “Independent journalism is crucial to democracy and I believe there is no better time to show readers the type of original journalism The New York Times creates every day.”
The NY Times usually gives readers access to 10 free articles per month before a subscription is required from $3.75 per week.
In its most recent earnings report, the company reported 1.557 million subscribers to its digital news products.
