Orangetheory Opens Second Manhattan Fitness Studio

Orangetheory Fitness has opened its first corporate-owned studio in New York City and second in Manhattan. The studio is located at 51 Astor Place in the Astor Place neighborhood where East and West Villages meet in Manhattan.

The Astor Place Orangetheory Fitness studio is just blocks from the historic Public Theater. The studio is the fifth Orangetheory Fitness studio to open in the New York City market. The first Manhattan location is in Chelsea at 124 W. 23rd St.

“We’re elated to be opening our first corporately owned Orangetheory Fitness studio in New York City, one of the workout capitals of the world,” said Dave Long, co-founder and chief executive officer of Orangetheory Fitness. “This studio is located in the heart of the city and will allow us to continue to grow our Orangetheory Nation while providing us with an ideal spot to continuously deliver the most unique, challenging and results oriented workouts to New Yorkers.”

The Astor Place Orangetheory Fitness studio features a large, multi-level layout, making it unique from any other Orangetheory studio in the world. Orangetheory Fitness studios are designed to motivate with upbeat music, state-of-the-art equipment, contemporary lighting and art. Studios are spacious and clean, with separate men’s and women’s locker rooms and showers. Certified coaches inspire participants to beat plateaus and stick to their goals. The dynamic created by working out in a group setting has proven benefits – support, energy, endurance and accountability.

Orangetheory Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, FL in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world’s top fitness franchises, with more than 550 studios in 45 states and seven countries, including U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Columbia. The 60-minute, five zone heart-rate monitored interval training concept has helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet their overall fitness goals in a short amount of time. The fitness franchise is on track to have 700 open studios in 2017.
