Wall St. Journal Lists Tech Companies to Watch

NEW YORK — The Wall Street Journal has published its first-ever list of Tech Companies to Watch. The list identifies 25 emerging companies across dynamic sectors of technology, including: consumer hardware, cybersecurity, healthcare, financial technology, business services, e-commerce, education and social media. Companies included in the list are less than 6 years old and have a valuation estimated between $50 million and $500 million.

The Wall Street Journal performed an extensive data analysis and surveyed technology watchers to examine companies based on their founder’s experience, the investments they have attracted, the prior success of their investors, the growth of their workforce and the buzz they are generating.

Most of the companies are based in California with the exception of Lemonade Inc., an online insurance company based in NY and ranked No. 10, and Andela, a NY recruiting service for software developers from Africa, at No. 15 .
