Toys”R”Us Closes $3.1 Billion in Financing

WAYNE, NJ – Less than a week after filing bankruptcy in the U.S. and Canada, Toys”R”Us, Inc. said it has closed on $3.1 billion of financing that will support the Company’s operations during its financial restructuring process.

The money will be used to keep the company liquid and invest in improvements at its chain of stores.

Toys and baby merchandise are sold in 885 Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us stores in the United States, Puerto Rico and Guam. The company plans to modernize and renovate Toys“R”Us stores through improved layouts, updated lighting patterns and other areas to bring them into the next era of retail shopping.

Various lenders contributed to the debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) financing, including a JPMorgan-led bank syndicate and certain of the Company’s existing lenders. On September 20, 2017, the Company received interim approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to access up to $2.2 billion of the DIP financing.
