Stephen Colbert continues his ratings superiority over Jimmy Fallon.
THE LATE SHOW with Stephen Colbert on CBS won premiere week while posting year-to-year growth, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 29.
THE LATE SHOW averaged 3.02 million viewers, up +16% (from 2.59 million) compared to premiere week last year. THE LATE SHOW topped “The Tonight Show” by +19% (3.02 million vs. 2.54 million).
But Jimmy Fallon at The Tonight Show continues to draw a younger audience with 0.63 rating for viewers 18-49 compared to 0.51 rating for Colbert according to ratings from Zap2It.
Friday’s LATE SHOW broadcast with comedian Jerry Seinfeld as guest, averaged 3.24 million, THE LATE SHOW’s largest Friday audience since March 10, 2016.
Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC was in third place with 2.3 million viewers and a 0.49 rating among age 18-49.
