NY Times reporter Glenn Thrush has been suspended by the newspaper following a story in Vox where he is accused of making sexual advances toward young female journalists.
Thrush is one of The NY Times’ top political reporters and has been parodied on Saturday Night Live. He is writing a book for Random House with fellow Times reporter Maggie Haberman about the Trump White House.
The Vox story interviewed three separate women who accused Thrush of making advances at bars in Washington D.C. following a night of drinking.
Thrush joined The NY Times last January and was previously a reporter for Politico for eight years.
“The behavior attributed to Glenn in this Vox story is very concerning and not in keeping with the standards and values of The New York Times,” The Times said in a statement on Monday. “We intend to fully investigate and while we do, Glenn will be suspended.”
Thrush is expected to enter a substance abuse program according to the Times.
