Macy’s, the largest department store chain in the U.S., is having trouble processing credit cards and gift cards today.
This is bad news for the retailer since it’s Black Friday and one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Customers went to Twitter to complain about card problems and Macy’s is apologizing, saying it is adding more sales personnel to registers to help.
We apologize for the inconvenience. At this time it’s taking longer than usual to process credit and gift card transactions in some of our stores, but we have added additional associates on the floor and we are working quickly to resolve the issue.

Macy’s is also telling customers that Black Friday specials are being extended to Saturday for those having problems buying today.
Black Friday deals will continue tomorrow from 8am-1pm — hope that helps!
