Hal Lawton, who became President of Macy’s Inc. in September, has purchased a $10.5 million townhouse in Greenwich Village according to the website Mansion Global.
The three-story townhouse is located on Charles Street between Waverly Place and West 4th Street. It was once owned by Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank.
The home features 3,736 square feet of living space and has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a library, a home office, an upgraded kitchen with limestone flooring and floor-to-ceiling doors opening to a backyard garden.
The townhouse was originally built in 1899 and designated a NYC landmark in 1969.
The Corcoran Group was the listing broker for the property.
Lawton was a former Senior Vice President at eBay before taking on the job as President of Macy’s, the nation’s largest department store chain. He also spent 10 years at Home Depot.
