Amazon, the nation’s leading online retailer, has leased 83,000 square feet of warehouse space in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens from Terreno Realty.
The lease commences December 1, 2018 and expires February 28, 2029.
Amazon is planning to build a new fulfillment center in Queens which will be the second in New York City. The one-story building was formerly home to Bulova Watch company according to Commercial Observer.
The first NYC fulfillment center for Amazon is under construction in Staten Island and is expected to open this fall. Amazon’s only other New York state fulfillment center is in Lancaster, NY.
The online giant is also reportedly looking to build a one-million square foot warehouse in Schodack outside of Albany.
