James Beard Foundation Releases Nominees for Top Chef in NY

The James Beard Foundation has released its nominees for Best Chef Awards and Best Restaurant. Winners will be celebrated at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

For Best Emerging Chef, there are two nominees from NY State out of five total:

• Fariyal Abdullahi, Hav & Mar, New York, NY
• Ryan Fernandez, Southern Junction, Buffalo, NY

For Outstanding Bakery, there is one NY nominee out of five:

• Mel the Bakery, Hudson, NY

For Outstanding Service, Melba’s of NYC is one out of five nominees:

• Melba’s, New York, NY
