NEW YORK — Discovery, operator of cable networks Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC and more, has selected 230 Park Avenue South in New York’s Flatiron district as the location for its new global headquarters.
Announced earlier this year, the company is moving its headquarters from Maryland to the Big Apple to be closer to advertising agencies and other media companies. Discovery plans to consolidate several of its existing New York office locations into the new space, with a targeted move in date beginning in Fall of 2019 and continuing through mid-2020, following a renovation of the new facility.
“The New Discovery is transforming into a different kind of global media company, and where and how we work is a critical foundation for our future success and growth,” said David Zaslav, President and Chief Executive of Discovery. “We are energized by our fantastic new home in New York – the media capital of the world – where we will write our company’s next chapter. We look forward to bringing our world-class employees together in a creative and collaborative workspace in one of Manhattan’s most vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods.”
