Woodward Trump Book Sets Sales Records

NEW YORK — Publisher Simon & Schuster announced that Bob Woodward’s FEAR: TRUMP IN THE WHITE HOUSE sold a total of more than 750,000 copies through Tuesday, September 11, the first day the book went on sale.  The combined sales figure includes pre-orders and first day sales of print books, ebooks, and audiobooks in both compact disk and digital formats. In addition, pre-order sales for FEAR were the largest for any title in Simon & Schuster company history.  On Tuesday, the publisher ordered a 9^th printing of the book that will bring the number of hardcover copies in print to more than 1,150,000.

National bookseller Barnes & Noble said that Woodward’s Fear is the top seller in stores nationwide and online at BN.com just one day after the book’s release, with the fastest sales for an adult title since Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman was released in July 2015.

“Fear had amazing first-day sales and is in high demand across our stores and online,” said Liz Harwell, Senior Director of Merchandising, Trade Books at Barnes & Noble. “We haven’t seen an adult title sell this quickly in over three years, and are working with Simon & Schuster to keep our shelves stocked to meet what we expect will be continued demand.”

FEAR: TRUMP IN THE WHITE HOUSE is also published by Simon & Schuster in Australia, Canada, India and the United Kingdom. Rights have been sold to 19 countries to date.
