New York Toy Fair Kicks Off Saturday

The 117th annual Toy Fair New York will open its doors to thousands of toy industry professionals this Saturday at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan. Over 440,000 square feet of exhibit space — or nearly 8 acres — will be filled with hundreds of thousands of toys, games, and youth entertainment products. This is the largest toy show in the Western hemisphere.

The event is for toy industry guests and media only with over 25,000 expected to attend. Toy Fair gives attendees exclusive, hands-on access to hundreds of thousands of brand-new toys and games.

“New York City will once again become the meeting grounds for the global toy community as hundreds of thousands of brand-new playthings make their debut at Toy Fair, and tens of thousands of attendees gather to make deals, network, and catch up on the latest trends and hot topics throughout the show’s countless educational opportunities,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association. “With another sold-out show about to begin, Toy Fair New York continues to grow on the global stage as the place to see the most ground-breaking toys, games, and youth entertainment products.”

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will help cut the ribbon at Toy Fair’s opening ceremonies on Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m. in the Crystal Palace 3B entrance. Immediately following, he’ll unveil the latest Tonka toys at Basic Fun!’s booth.

Below are the show dates:

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 22-24
9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Tuesday, February 25
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Toy Fair is produced by The Toy Association, Inc. – the not-for-profit trade association representing all businesses involved in creating and bringing toys and youth entertainment products to kids of all ages. The Toy Association’s 1000+ members account for approximately 90 percent of the annual U.S. domestic toy market of $28 billion.

The Toy Foundation will present the 20th annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards on Friday, February 21 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. The networking gala will honor the top toys and games of the year and celebrate the inductees into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame – all while supporting the philanthropic work of The Toy Foundation.
