NY Times Hires New Finance Editor

The New York Times has hired Anupreeta Das as its new finance editor. Das spent 10 years at The Wall Street Journal, most recently as deputy business editor.

At WSJ, Das helped supervise a wide swath of business and technology coverage, shaping daily news and enterprise. Among the stories she was closely involved in were WeWork, the United States-China trade war, Huawei, Fiat Chrysler and Amazon’s search for a second headquarters, which won a Loeb award last year.

Preeta grew up in India and went to school there, in the United States and in Britain. She has lived in more cities that you have and has been in New York for the past 13 years. She speaks three Indian languages and has studied Mandarin.
