Costco, the nation’s leading membership warehouse chain, is closing at 6:30 p.m. on weekdays starting on Monday, March 30. This is usually two hours earlier for most stores. Gas stations at Costco will close at 7 p.m. Weekend store hours will remain the same.
Costco has seen a huge surge in business over the last month and the earlier closings will give employees more time to clean stores and keep shelves stocked.
The chain is also adding a third day for seniors and disabled to shop one hour earlier in the middle of the week. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Costco warehouses will open from 8 to 9 a.m. for members ages 60 and older, and for those with physical impairments.
Costco currently operates 786 warehouses, including 547 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 100 in Canada, 39 in Mexico, 29 in the United Kingdom, 26 in Japan, 16 in Korea, 13 in Taiwan, 11 in Australia, two in Spain, and one each in Iceland, France, and China.
In Puerto Rico, warehouses will close at 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; the Carolina gas station will close at 6:30 p.m. Warehouses will be closed Sundays through April 12.
Costco Business Centers will continue to operate at normal hours.
