Five New Tenants Coming to Grand Central Terminal

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced five new tenants are coming to Grand Central Terminal in 2024. The newly signed tenants represent a vibrant and diverse mix of industry innovators, iconic eating and drinking destinations, and exciting lifestyle retail brands.

As Metro-North Railroad continues to see strong gains in ridership and a returning abundance of foot traffic through this premier location in the center of NYC, demand for Grand Central’s retail spaces continues to rise.

“Grand Central Terminal is a world-renowned destination not just for train travelers but for thousands of people who pass through the Terminal every day,” said Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi. “And with the new LIRR terminal at Grand Central Madison open downstairs, we are thrilled to have so many new exciting retail and food offerings for those new LIRR customers as they pass through the historic Terminal.”

New tenants coming to or recently opened at Grand Central this year include:

  • Melba’s – A 2024 James Beard Award finalist and one of the premier comfort food destinations in New York City where dining is like coming home for dinner.
  • Naya – With a focus on Middle Eastern cuisine that is fresh and nutritious, diners can build their own bowls, salads and rolls and pair them with delicious appetizers and desserts.
  • SanWei – San Wei is a fast-casual restaurant dedicated to serving excellent rice, noodle dishes, and pastrami sandwiches with amazing sides for their guests.
  • Joey Bats Cafe – (already open) A taste of Portugal in New York offering the famed pasteis de nata: pastry tarts with a light and flaky shell that are filled with egg custard and baked.
  • Charles Tyrwhitt – A British multi-channel clothing retailer specializing in dress shirts, ties, suits, casualwear, shoes and accessories.
  • Sabatino Truffles, the leading authority on fresh truffles and truffle products, is the newest vendor in the Grand Central Market which is now at 100% occupancy.

These new restaurants are part of a dining revitalization at Grand Central Terminal. Veselka and Wonderen Stroopwafel opened on the Dining Concourse in Fall of 2023. Playa Bowls and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream started serving up sweet treats in January of 2024 and Taste NY a one-stop shop for tasty New York State products, reopened in March.
