BROOKLYN — Floor & Decor, a retailer specializing in hard-surface flooring for homeowners and professionals, has opened its first-ever New York City store. Located on the second floor at 850 3rd Avenue at Liberty Bklyn in Sunset Park, the 129,000 square foot warehouse-format store marks the company’s first official entry into the five boroughs.
“Bringing our full-sized warehouse store to New York City’s most populous borough is incredibly exciting given the limited opportunities in Brooklyn to accommodate a home improvement store of our immense magnitude,” said Bryan Dodge, Chief Business Development Officer at Floor & Decor. “Brooklyn also illustrates our unique ability to adapt our store model to meet our customers in their neighborhoods.”
“This past year has marked a tremendous period of continued growth for Floor & Decor – from opening our 200th store, to entering the biggest city, retail, and unique housing market in the U.S.,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Executive Officer at Floor & Decor. “We are excited to open our doors and service all NYC homeowners and construction pros with our massive selection of hard-surface flooring. We look forward to being part of the community in Brooklyn, and to providing our unprecedented trend-right selection and service-driven shopping experience to our new customers.”
The retail space offers free design appointments for all customers, a loyalty and rewards program for construction professionals and job opportunities for the community.
The store is open seven days a week, offer extended hours from 6am to 10pm weekdays, and offer flat-rate delivery to apartments, homes and job sites within a 60-mile radius. The store and design center, which offers free appointments with designers to help customers select the right materials and design for their spaces, has a team of approximately 80 full-time and part-time associates.
Founded in 2000, Atlanta-based Floor & Decor is a leading high-growth specialty retailer of hard-surface flooring, operating more than 229 warehouse-format stores and five design studios across 36 states.
