The new facility was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The 1,545-square-foot center is set to begin seeing patients in mid-April 2026 and will provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.
Made possible in large part by a $5 million philanthropic gift from local donors Bill and Ruth Ann Harnisch, the center is designed to bring specialized, coordinated care closer to home for East End communities. The expansion also includes the addition of two cranial neurosurgeons, Robert Gawley Kerr, MD, PhD, and Martin Merenzon, MD, strengthening PBMC’s growing neurosciences program and enabling the hospital to offer advanced brain and spine surgical care locally for the first time.
