Capsule Raising $200 Million to Deliver Drugs Outside of NYC

Capsule, an online pharmacy that delivers prescriptions anywhere in the New York metro area, has raised $200 million in fresh funding according to Bloomberg that will help the company expand across the U.S.

The funding was led by venture capital firm TCV and Capsule’s existing investors Thrive Capital and Glade Brook Capital Partners also participated. The company has previously raised $70 million.

Capsule CEO and founder Eric Kinariwala told Bloomberg the company will expand to all major U.S. cities within the next 18 to 36 months.

The company has headquarters at 113 W. 25th St. in Manhattan and lets anyone order their prescriptions via a convenient app. Prescriptions can then be delivered to home, office or anywhere else in NYC within the same day.

The service is free and users just have to pay any applicable co-pays for medication.

Capsule offers delivery from 8AM-10PM Monday to Friday and Saturday-Sunday 10AM-6PM.
