Supermarket chain Trader Joe’s announced that it will reduce hours and close at 7 p.m. beginning Monday, March 16th and until further notice.
All Trader Joe’s stores will be open from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm to help support Crew Members in taking care of one another and their customers. No other reason was given for reduced hours but stores have seen heavy traffic due to the coronavirus scare.
Trader Joe’s stores typically close at 9 p.m. and stores in Manhattan had been open until 10 p.m. Many stores also opened at 8 a.m. in the morning so the chain is cutting at least 3 hours per day.
Trader Joe’s has over 500 stores in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, announced that its supercenters that are open 24 hours are cutting back hours to 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until further notice.
