ESPN’s new lead NBA broadcast team makes its debut this Friday on the ESPN2 sports cable network in a preseason game between the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time.
Long time play-by-play man Mike Breen is joined by Doris Burke and former NBA player and coach Doc Rivers. ESPN added Burke and Rivers as the new main broadcast team for NBA games this year and let go former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy and former Knicks player and coach Mark Jackson.
Rosalyn Gold-Onwude will be the sideline reporter during ESPN’s top NBA broadcasts.
Breen, Van Gundy and Jackson were the top broadcasting team for NBA games and the NBA finals for the past 17 years before the network decided to make a change.
The sports network also laid off a number of well-known personalities this year in a cost-cutting move.
