Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Cuts 337 Jobs

Layoffs aren’t just hitting tech companies, even hospitals in NY are cutting back. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), one of the nation’s top cancer hospitals, has laid off 337 workers according to a WARN notice filed with the NY State Department of Labor.

According to WPIX, MSKCC cited financial problems for the cutbacks and said in November it would cut 3% of its workforce. The Cancer Center has over 7,000 employees at locations in New York and New Jersey with the main hospital at 1275 York Avenue on the Upper East Side. There were 127 jobs lost at the main hospital.

It’s unknown how many jobs were eliminated in New Jersey since the Warn Notice filing only covers NY-based job cuts.
