Delta Opens New Club Lounges in Newark, JFK

Delta has opened two new Sky Club lounges this summer at JFK and Newark Airports. The lounges are exclusively for the airline’s Sky Club members.

The nearly 14,000-square-foot Club, which seats more than 250 guests and includes a covered Sky Deck, will operate alongside the Club on Terminal 4, Concourse B. Together the two Clubs will have capacity for over 800 guests simultaneously at JFK.

A fireplace lounge provides cozy ambience for work or relaxation, while guests enjoy sweeping views of the airfield. A tucked-away nook with lush green seating evokes the elegance and privacy of a classic speakeasy. A signature, 360-degree premium bar serves as the Club’s centerpiece — a grand and inviting space, one suited to the city that never sleeps.

“This new Club is beautifully designed and packed with special details that reflect the magic of New York City,” said Claude Roussel, Managing Director — Delta Sky Club. “But much more important than that, it’s a place where our people can deliver Delta Sky Club’s signature hospitality, making each guest feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they step inside.”

You can purchase an individual Delta Sky Club membership for $695 per year or it is included with the Delta Skymiles Reserve American Express Card which has a $550 annual fee.

Delta Sky Club’s new lounge in Newark Airport is in Terminal A, the airline’s new home. The 7,000-plus-square-foot space seats over 200 guests (an increase of 50 from the Terminal B Club) and includes elevated views of the newly built Terminal A and airfield.

An open-air space, the EWR Terminal A Club features several acoustic systems designed to absorb the outside sounds of the airport so guests can enjoy a relaxing and social setting.

“This lounge is a true product of its environment – both in the airport and the surrounding Newark area,” said Claude Roussel, Vice President, Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience. “Our team has used thoughtful design touches to create a welcoming, relaxing space in the middle of a busy terminal. We can’t wait for Newark guests to discover this lounge for themselves and experience our signature Delta Sky Club hospitality.”

The lounge design takes inspiration from Newark’s contrasts: a rich green color palette (suitable for the “Garden State”) paired with the city’s historic importance as a manufacturing hub. Once known for its factories, leather tanneries and breweries, Newark’s history of industry is reflected in the Club’s warm leather textures and metallic finishes. The Club’s rigid architectural lines and rich colors merge with the soft, curving shapes representative of the landscape, reflecting a harmonious blend of the natural and the industrial.

Guests of the Terminal A Club can enjoy a drink from either the premium bar or the beverage station, as well as a buffet stocked with a seasonally inspired selection of fresh items. With four private all-gender restrooms and amenity zones for mobile work, socializing or simply relaxing with a pre-flight cocktail, this lounge is well-appointed to meet customers’ travel needs.

Since 2010, Delta has invested over $7 billion in infrastructure at its New York airports – including a $1.5 billion expansion project at JFK, which broke ground in late 2021. In January 2023, Delta consolidated all operations to Terminal 4, opening 10 new gates in the modernized, spacious Concourse A and making technology enhancements designed to maximize ease and efficiency during busy travel times, including self-service check-in kiosks and upgraded bag drop locations. An expansion of Concourse B, scheduled for completion in the fall of 2023, will include 28 gates that can accommodate various aircraft types, updated restrooms, and an expanded security checkpoint and baggage claim area.
