BNY Mellon Names New Class of 42 Managing Directors

BNY Mellon has unveiled the newest class of Managing Directors (MDs), who were officially promoted on January 1, 2024, the year of the firm’s 240th anniversary. MDs at BNY Mellon are senior leaders who help the company with executing strategy and delivering service to clients.

“Our annual Managing Director promotions aren’t just an acknowledgement of individual achievement – they symbolize the dynamic growth and adaptability of our organization,” said Senior Executive Vice President and Head of International, Hani Kablawi, who served as the executive sponsor of the Managing Director selection process. “MDs play a pivotal leadership role in steering teams through complexities to help ensure our clients achieve their ambitions.”

Managing Directors are named once a year through a rigorous nomination process, with a diverse panel of current MDs appointed to assess the candidates and finalize the selections.

“Our new MD class joins an impressive group of enterprise leaders who continue to elevate the commercial value and impact we deliver to our colleagues, clients and communities,” said Sharyn Jones, Interim Co-Head of the People Team and Global Head of Talent. “We look forward to the leadership and contributions our MDs will deliver to drive our strategic goals in 2024 and beyond.”

BNY Mellon has $1.8 trillion in assets under management and $45.7 trillion assets under custody and/or administration.

The 44 commercial leaders selected to the Managing Director class of 2024 represent 16 business functions across the four regions in which BNY Mellon operates. Currently, BNY Mellon has over 600 MDs in 67 cities around the world.
