ESPN Draws Record 12.3 Million Viewers for Iowa-LSU Game in Albany

ESPN announced The 2024 NCAA Women’s Elite Eight was the most-watched on record with 6.2 million average viewers – up 184% year-over year.

And Monday night’s rematch in Albany between Iowa and LSU was the most-watched women’s college basketball game on record with 12.3 million viewers and peaked at 16.1 million viewers.

Iowa prevailed over LSU 94-87 to advance to the Final Four in Cleveland behind superstar Caitlin Clark’s 41 points. Clark is also basketball’s all-time leading scorer and has been drawing big ratings whenever she plays on TV.

Clark hit nine three-pointers in Monday’s game to go with 12 assists and seven rebounds.

LSU beat Iowa in the championship game last year, 102-85.

Iowa will face UConn in the second semifinals game on Friday and NC State plays undefeated South Carolina in the first semifinal.
