MOUNT KISCO – Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its Mount Kisco bookstore last month. The new Barnes & Noble is located at 55-59 S. Moger Avenue, Mount Kisco, NY 10549, in the space formerly occupied by Walgreens, across from Citibank and next to Gap.
“We are very pleased to bring Barnes & Noble to Mount Kisco,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “This is a beautiful new bookstore, complete with our customer-favorite B&N Café, and it is especially exciting to open just in time for holiday shopping.”
Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2023, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2024.
The Mount Kisco location is one of twelve new Barnes & Noble bookstores that opened in November, alongside another new location in NY as well as FL, UT, NH, IN, UT, KS, CA, NJ, WA, and Washington D.C. The company is privately held.
“The most exciting aspect of the journey so far has been hearing the community’s response to the news of our store opening,” said Store Manager Julia McDonald. “We have received such a warm welcome and knowing that Mount Kisco is looking forward to our opening just as much as we are has motivated us all the more.”
