Housework Workout Studio to Open in NYC

NEW YORK — HOUSEWORK, a high-energy, music-powered full-body workout method, is officially launching its first-ever flagship studio in New York City on March 15, 2025. Located at 12 East 18th Street in the heart of Flatiron, this milestone marks an exciting new chapter for HOUSEWORK and its founder, Sydney Miller [pictured], whose fitness journey began in this very space over a decade ago.

HOUSEWORK is more than just a workout—it’s a dynamic experience that blends low-impact Pilates-based exercises with high-intensity cardio and strength training, all choreographed to the beat of the music. Inspired by the electric energy of a house music DJ set, Miller created HOUSEWORK to empower clients to push their limits, embrace movement, and find confidence in every beat-driven routine. The brand has cultivated a devoted community both online and through sold-out pop-ups across the country, and now, it’s bringing its signature energy to a permanent home in a coveted NYC neighborhood.=

Opening a premier studio in New York is more than just a business move—it is a deeply personal homecoming. The studio will sit in the exact space where Miller took her first SoulCycle class, a pivotal moment that launched her career in fitness, and where she taught for almost a decade.

HOUSEWORK was created in 2017 when Miller had the opportunity to develop an off-the-bike class for her community. She wanted this Pilates-based workout to be beat-driven, cardio-intensive, and, above all, fun. With her love of house music, she named it HOUSEWORK—and trademarked it, knowing she had something special. After establishing her HOUSEWORK community in NYC, the pandemic hit and Miller took HOUSEWORK to Zoom, quickly grew a dedicated online following, and within six months, launched her app—turning a moment of uncertainty into a thriving movement. Despite Miller’s relocation to Miami in 2020, she always knew NYC was a special part of HOUSEWORK’s journey.

“I didn’t always know I wanted a brick-and-mortar space, but by early 2024, my in-person events were giving me and the HOUSEWORK community so much life that I felt called to create something more permanent,” says Founder Sydney Miller. “One day, I was walking through Flatiron, reflecting on where it all began, when I noticed leasing signs going up on the very building where I had spent years teaching. It felt like fate. At the same time, I saw so many of my peers in the industry taking the leap, and I thought—why not me? Why not now? I can do this!”

The HOUSEWORK flagship studio will offer a full schedule of classes, seven days a week, while simultaneously elevating its successful live-streamed offerings,. Miller is excited to offer multiple instructors and class times for the first time ever. “Until now, I’ve been a one-woman show, which is tough since I can only teach so much. I’m beyond excited to have an incredible team of women joining us who will bring even more variety to the HOUSEWORK community.”
