Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital has opened the new Northwell Health Sleep Disorders Center. The unit is equipped with four bedrooms, complete with all new furniture including queen sized adjustable beds and mattresses. Each room is equipped with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant bathrooms that have access to showers. The center is located on the second floor of the hospital.
The new Sleep Disorders Center at LIJ Valley Stream provides patients with sleep medicine technologies including diagnostic in-lab sleep studies, positive airway pressure in-lab studies, inclusive heart monitoring, respiratory monitoring, oxygenation monitoring, monitoring of muscle activity, eye movement and brain activity.
“The new Northwell Health Sleep Disorders Center at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital, is a state-of-the-art facility that is providing patients with comprehensive, personalized care for a wide range of sleep disorders,” said Stella Hahn, MD, medical director of the Sleep Disorders Center. “The center has advanced diagnostic tools and a compassionate team committed to helping our community achieve better sleep and improved overall health.”
Patients who are experiencing health and wellness concerns linked to their sleeping patterns can receive care for: sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movements disorder, REM behavior, insomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, restless leg syndrome, snoring, obstructive sleep apnea and general sleep disorders.

The hours of the Northwell Health Sleep Disorders Center at LIJ Valley Stream are:
- Tuesday: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
- Wednesday: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
- Thursday: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
