Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care has opened a new 2,500-square-foot center in East Meadow, expanding access to convenient, nonemergency care and marking the health system’s 38th urgent care location on Long Island.
Located at 1990 Hempstead Turnpike, the center will be open daily and provide care for adults and children with non-life-threatening conditions, including respiratory and ear infections, fractures and minor cuts.
The new location was opened in response to high demand at nearby urgent care centers and is designed to serve residents of East Meadow, Uniondale, Levittown, Hempstead, Garden City and Westbury. Neal Shipley, MD, medical director at Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, said the site will help more patients receive care closer to home. Northwell and GoHealth have partnered since 2014 and now operate more than 60 urgent care locations across New York City, Long Island and Westchester, expanding access to hospital-affiliated care throughout the region.
