Barnes & Noble Opens Store in Commack

COMMACK, NY – Barnes & Noble has opened a new bookstore in Commack, NY.

The new store offers more than 10,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items, and more. The Commack store is located in Veterans Memorial Plaza (58 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Commack, NY 11725), in the former Party City space, near Michaels. The new store is just 2 miles from the Jericho Turnpike Barnes & Noble that closed in 2024 when its lease ended.

The new store is one of two Barnes & Noble locations to open in the NYC area last month, joining another in Livingston, NJ. The design of the Commack store showcases the ambition of Barnes & Noble to create exceptional local bookstores that marry the best traditions of independent bookselling with the resources of the historic chain. Barnes & Noble has opened 10 stores in New York over the last three years, with four more anticipated later this year.

“We are very pleased to open this beautiful new Barnes & Noble in Commack,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “To return a major bookstore to the Commack community after an absence of two years is a particular cause for celebration.”

Store Manager Melissa Cope, who has been with Barnes & Noble for 6 years said, “As a lover of books my entire life, I’m truly happy to be part of bringing a new Barnes & Noble to the Commack community.”
